General:
- Every
playing team should give its entry fee of $150 before the schedule is finalized.
- Each team can have a maximum of 15 players in the pool but only 10 players will be playing at a time.
- Pitch
length: There is a string with two knots; the length between the knots is
the length of the pitch, as wicket to wicket.
- Boundary
length: Combined length of two strings.
- Batting/
Bowling crease should be a full bat plus the handle of the bat.
- Lines should be used as wide markers.
- The Balls
for all the games will be given to captains before their bowling innings.
- New ball
shall be used at the start of each innings, if lost/broken usage of old ball
from earlier match or earlier innings is allowed. Ball
replacement should be handled by umpires with agreement from both team
captains.
- At any given
time maximum of 10 players can field. Minimum of 6 Players from either
team needed to commence the Game. If/when players of the fielding side
arrive late, they are allowed to enter only at the end of the over that is
in progress. Umpires should not allow any time wasting during the game.
- Fielders and bowlers also are prohibited from shouting anything from the instant the bowler starts the bowling stride to the instant the ball is either played or crosses the normal batting position of the batsmen.
- Each game
has maximum of 12 overs per innings in the every League games.
- 9 Wickets
down in an inning will be considered all out.
- Net Run Rate
= For RR (Total Runs/Total Overs) - Against RR (Total Runs/Total Overs).
- Teams standings is calculated based on the order of Number of points
secured by the Team and then Head-to-Head Win/Loss and finally NRR
- There will
be no Super over if the match is a tie. Teams are awarded equal points.
- It is the
duty of the bowler to tell the guard to umpires while bowling. The umpire
has a right to give a No Ball if the bowler failed to tell the guard.
- Bails will not be used above the stumps.
Umpire Duties:
- Neutral umpires will be assigned for each game.
- Umpires for
the match should be 15 minutes at the ground before the play starts. It is
the responsibility of that team captain to make sure they arrive 15
minutes earlier to the match.
- For every 10 minutes delay of
their arrival, 1 over will be reduced from allotted quota in their team
next match.
- Umpire
decisions are final. Both umpires can consult with each other if there is
ambiguity in their decision of giving out or not out or if the players
appeal.
- Umpires
should make note and document any misbehavior of players and other issues.
If anyone found guilty, action will be taken accordingly on those
player(s)/Team.
- Umpires should note the start of play and the time match ended.
- Only captain and vice-captain from
both sides are allowed to talk with the umpires if there are any issues
with umpire decisions. Misbehavior will not be tolerated.
- Toss must be
completed 10 minutes before start of play and it is the duty of umpires to
handle this
- Both teams list of players playing the game should be handed over to the umpires at
toss time.
- Umpires
decide Man-of-Match for each game.
Game Rules:
- No changes
to the matches once the schedule is finalized.
- NIVIA Red Tennis Balls will be used for the League.
- Teams should avoid to wear any red colored clothing since it will blend with the balls being used. Also players should not wear any spikes shoes since we play on a carpeted pitch.
- Games not
played at the scheduled date/time due to rain or bad light will not be
rescheduled.
- There will
be a 10 minute turnaround time between innings.
- Maximum Number of overs per Bowler per innings = 3. If its a shortened game, umpires will decide on a modified maximum number of overs per bowler.
- No LBW, no
leg-bye runs, no run out if the Umpire Declares leg-bye. The Umpires
should call the leg bye immediately if the players are taking run on leg
bye.
- No runs and
no out will be given for a Dead ball. The dead ball is according the

- If the ball
does not pitch on the mat, it is a no ball & batsman is allowed to
score.
- There will
be a 30 inches mark on the off side of the off-stump. Any ball passing
outside of this mark will be adjudged a wide ball; the batting side will
be awarded 1 run plus any other runs that they can get through by-runs.
Any ball passing behind the legs of the striker provided its outside the
leg stump will be a wide ball too. In this case an extra ball will have to
be bowled by the bowler.
- Full toss
above the waist of a batsman standing upright at the crease or the second
short pitched ball above the shoulder of a batsman standing upright at the
crease is considered as No Ball. The batting side will be awarded 1 run
plus any other runs that they can get and one extra ball in that over. Low
full toss (below the waist) behind the stumps and within the wide line
markers is not considered as a No Ball.
- First 1
bounce above head height is a wide ball, provided batsman is on crease
line and has not touched the ball. This will also be the first warning for
the over.
- 1 bounce
above shoulder is first warning in the over; any other ball in same over
above shoulder is no ball, provided batsman is on crease line.
- Bowler's complete step outside stepping crease is no ball and complete step outside side crease is a no ball
- For overstepping no-balls, free hit next ball will be available for the next ball.
- In case of an Injury, the Captains and Umpires will assess the situation and let him go out of the field. The injured player may come into action after 1 over from the time he goes out of the field.
- If he goes
out of the field for more than 6 overs of an innings in total and does not return on the
field then he should come in as a last man for batting.
- Transfer of
players between teams is not allowed
- Every team
can nominate 12th man who can field but cannot bat, bowl or keep behind the wickets.
- Make sure
captains had their teams understand all the rules defined for the League.
Scorecards/Standings/Gallery:
- Scorecards for each game will be handled by the batting team with a representative from the bowling team
- Each Team
should provide Score sheets after the game to the umpires and these will be uploaded
by Wednesday morning in the website.
- Individual scores/Wides/No balls should match with total score. Number of wickets taken by the bowler/ runs scored by each batsman should be present on the score card. Along with these other details on the scorecard need to be filled accordingly.
- Standings
will be updated on the website on a regular basis.
- Teams which
provide photos for the matches will be uploaded in web site. Please
provide the link for the gallery but not the individual Photos.
Discipline:
- Sledging is
strictly prohibited. If it crosses a limit, then umpires can warn
initially and if it goes out of control, they have a right to expel the
concerned players.
- Teams must
play in line with the laws and spirit of the game and any physical or
verbal (direct or implied) attack by a player(s) against
umpire/cricketers/Spectators will not be tolerated.
- Rude players
will be expelled from the tournament and will never be played in any of LRCL events in future.
- Players
abusing or threatening either umpires or opponent team members will be
expelled from the tournament and will never be played in any of LRCL events in future.
- No alcoholic
drinks allowed on the ground during, before or after the game.
- Make sure
that the playing Teams have collected the Trash. There will be a fine
imposed on both the teams if the trash is left behind. Captains should
take responsibility in this issue.
